The world’s favorite opera composer, Giacomo Puccini
KDFC launches a new hour-long opera broadcast the first Sunday of every month at 8pm. “The Opera Hour” is created and hosted by KDFC’s President Bill Lueth and SF Opera’s General Director Matthew Shilvock. It welcomes long-time opera fans and the opera curious who want to discover the magic of this music. Each month, Bill and Matthew share new opera recordings they’re enjoying, as well as some of their favorites honoring singers of the past. They’ll also highlight the great opera singing being performed locally each month and dig into the archives of SF Opera for some gems recorded live at the War Memorial. And Matthew will take you backstage with a special guest to help demystify the spectacular world of opera!
Bill Lueth says, “Opera has some of the most beautiful and dramatic moments in all of classical music. Matthew and I want to share this music with a larger audience, and invite more people to discover what makes opera so wonderful.”
Tune in for broadcasts the first Sunday of each month at 8pm! And see what’s coming up below.
