We bring you the Sounds of the Season on Classical KDFC and KDFC.com, no matter how you celebrate, with holiday favorites sprinkled in each hour throughout your day. Starting on Christmas Eve, tune in for 48 hours of wall-to-wall Christmas music.

BACH’S B MINOR MASS
Sunday, December 9 | 8 pm
Tune into a special holiday edition of our monthly Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra broadcast as America’s finest period instrument orchestra, and a Bay Area treasure, performs Bach’s Mass in b minor.

A CHANTICLEER CHRISTMAS
Sunday, December 16 | 8 pm
It’s a special edition of KDFC’s Bay Area Mix with A Chanticleer Christmas. Hear why this superb 12-man ensemble from San Francisco is known as “an orchestra of voices,” as they perform holiday classics and new favorites. It’s a Bay Area tradition!

HOLIDAY NIGHTS ON KDFC TONIGHT

Monday, December 10
KDFC’s Holiday Nights begin with music for the final night of Hanukkah, including Handel’s “Judas Maccabeus.”

Wednesday, December 12
A Young Person’s Guide to Christmas: featuring toys and games, the adventures of Santa Claus, and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker in its entirety

Thursday, December 13
Christmas in the Southwest, English and Italian versions of the Nativity, the origins of the Christmas tree and some Christmas Eve shenanigans in old Russia.

Friday, December 14
18th Century Christmas music and an early celebration of Beethoven’s birthday.

Monday, December 17
KDFC’s Holiday Nights continue with versions of the Christmas story from Germany, Austria and France.

Tuesday, December 18
Tune into a special holiday edition of the San Francisco Symphony Broadcast for a performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Wednesday, December 19
A Very English Christmas.

Thursday, December 20
Music for Dickens, and American Nativity, a plea for Peace, and Tchaikovsky welcomes Winter.

Friday, December 21
J.S. Bach’s powerful Christmas Oratorio, in its entirety.
