Some Host and Schedule Changes for the Fall

Solomon Reynolds

We’re going to be making a couple of changes to our Weekend schedule starting after Labor Day, and wanted to let you know about them…

On Sunday afternoons from 3 to 6pm, Solomon Reynolds will be the new host. A native of Houston, TX, Samoan American tenor Solomon Reynolds has equal passions for classical music and indie pop. Solomon is a three-time Encouragement Award recipient of the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition in the Houston, Utah, and Los Angeles Districts. He recently performed as Perchik in the First Nat’l Tour of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Tony-Award winning director Bartlett Sher. In addition to stage roles, Solomon is also an active singer-songwriter under his artist name, Solly.

In addition to his Sunday shift, Solomon will be popping in for a new weekly feature, “Saturday Morning Car Tunes,” a kid- and family-friendly fun exploration of classical music and orchestral instruments, Saturdays at 8:15am (with a repeat at 3:15pm).

From the Top will be starting an hour earlier, at 6pm, to make room for our new show, NorCal Sunday Night, bringing you performances from classical music makers from the Bay Area. Please note: The San Francisco Symphony broadcasts have moved from Tuesdays to their new home on NorCal Sunday Night. You’ll still hear the full season of new San Francisco Symphony concerts, in addition to performances from other groups across the Bay. And good news for opera lovers: Bill Lueth and Matthew Shilvock will continue to host The Opera Hour on the first Sunday of the month at the new time of 9pm, and the rest of the month, Jennifer Miller Hammel will bring you more great opera selections on The Opera Show.
