Innocence (June 1–21, 2024)

By Kaija Saariaho, Sofi Oksanen, and Aleksi Barrière  (This is composer Kaija Saariaho’s last opera)

Acclaimed by the New York Times as a “masterpiece,” Innocence takes us into the complex emotional journey of a group of people recovering from inconceivable trauma.

INNOCENCE premiered in Aix-en-Provence in 2021 and features nine languages: English, Finnish, Czech, Romanian, French, Swedish, German, Spanish, and Greek.

Simon Stone’s cinematic production of Innocence is conducted by Saariaho specialist Clément Mao-Takacs, and stars Ruxandra Donose, Claire de Sévigné, Rod Gilfry, Miles Mykkanen, Kristinn Sigmundsson, Lucy Shelton, and Vilma Jää.
