As KDFC passes its official 10th-anniversary mark as a listener-supported station, allow me to share this update on our next big step into the next 10 years and beyond.

In early February, I was delighted to stop into the new Bowes Performing Arts Center in San Francisco, the new home of KDFC, to see how construction was going. While health and safety precautions have delayed the construction of KDFC’s new studios and offices, with these pictures I want to share the good progress being made. We’ve also included artist renderings so you’ll see not only how much work there’s still left to do, but also see the expected final results that we are so excited about.

As we work to plan our move, we’d love to have you join in the dream by making a donation to our Window to the Music building fund to finish paying for the building and to fund some unique future programs we look forward to sharing. Gifts over $5,000 will be acknowledged on our donor wall at the entrance of our suite, but all gifts are welcome.

I hope you enjoy the photo update of where we are today and stay tuned for more information coming soon! Follow the links at the bottom to read the full story about our game-changing move. Thank you so much for your support!

This is where you will step through the front door on the second floor to see how we bring you the music, and maybe see your name on the donor wall!

From this angle you can see the new main on-air studio going in with its large glass front.

Now turn 180 degrees and you can see why we call our fundraising campaign “Your Window to the Music.”

Just across the lobby of the building, from our floor we can see into the sidewalk recital hall at Hayes Street and Van Ness where we hope to see you for special events.
