Notes from the Fires: Cheech and … Natasha

“Icon” is thrown around a lot, but this week and next on Notes from the Fires, we’re taking you to the home of a true cultural icon.

Celebrities’ garages are just as messy everyone else’s! Natasha and Cheech Marin talked with us in their garage, as the smoke damage is repaired in their house in the Palisades - one of just two left standing on their bock after the fire.

Celebrities’ garages are just as messy everyone else’s! Natasha and Cheech Marin talked with us in their garage, as the smoke damage is repaired in their house in the Palisades - one of just two left standing on their bock after the fire.

Not only is Cheech Marin world famous as a comedian - as half of Cheech and Chong - but he’s become the foremost champion of Chicano art. His wife Natasha Marin is a classical pianist whose foray into electronic music - “Songs of the Desert” - is up for Grammy consideration.

They are famous together for throwing old fashioned art salons in their home in the Palisades - serving mezcal and blinis - and - after the smoke damage is repaired - hope to bring them back.

Notes from the Fires host John Rabe talked with them in their garage!

We close out this episode of Notes from the Fires with Natasha Marin on piano, playing Tchaikovsky’s Dumka.
