Classical Americana Live focuses on the crossroads in American music where traditions and legacies connect, the intersections where innovation and cross-pollination have created the unique and distinctive “sound of America.” Lara is joined by special guests whose work mines the American musical landscape to uncover its buried treasures.

Lara Downes is celebrated for her insightful and exciting explorations of the American musical landscape. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, Lara contemplates the power of American music to express the ideals at the heart of our country’s promise: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Lara shares a sneak peek at the music and stories behind her DECLARATION project, with a program that spans 250 years of American history through music. Classical California – San Francisco President Bill Lueth will join her for a conversation about the music she will play.
