Sister stations KUSC in Los Angeles and KDFC in San Francisco have joined forces as one dynamic team, now known simply as Classical California.
We’re doubling down on our love for the communities we’ve always served, but we’re also stepping up to do more. Many towns and cities across California don’t have a local classical music radio station anymore. Through our digital platforms, Classical California is here to bring beautiful music to anyone, anywhere, while celebrating the arts across the state.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our radio reach beyond LA and SF to reach Santa Barbara, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and Palm Springs. You’ve heard all our hosts in Los Angeles and San Francisco before. Now, you can enjoy all of them every day. Generic music services just can’t match your friends on the radio, who make your music more engaging, your commute more fun, and your day a little brighter.
In the coming months, you’ll find all of Classical California available on one website and one app. For now, you can still find us streaming at kusc.org and kdfc.com, the smartphone apps, and by asking your smart speaker to play “KUSC” or “KDFC.” And, of course, our radio frequencies up and down the coast.
Here’s what hasn’t changed:
The same fantastic programming you love, with fresh ideas on the horizon.
The same friendly, knowledgeable hosts, with new voices joining the team.
The same amazing community of classical fans connected through music, growing stronger every day.
A listener-supported model that keeps us focused on the music, not commercial interests. Where listeners take care of the music.
This is Classical California: where tradition sparks innovation, entertainment comes with heart, and the music meets you, wherever you are.
